projects

I have finally faced I am my happiest when I have a project to think on! Like today is my day off, I don't have a project going and I am antsy, unsettled, lackluster.

I love a problem and finding a solution.

PROJECT: I have lots of earrings. Had all sorts of aggravation trying to find the right pair in my early morning panic of dressing for work. So, spray painted this tray, stretched trims, stapled gunned them, hot glued antique buttons to cover the staples. Voila, earrings organized by color! The trims accommodate post, clip or hooks.

PROJECT: I have a necklace collection. Many of my clients bring me crosses when they travel. I had necklaces hung over the edges of two antique mirrors. Oi, what a battle each morning to find, then untangle one from the clutches of its neighboring neckies.

TT and I cut a piece of plywood into a rounded cross shape. Sanded edges, sprayed with texture and painted to match bedroom walls. Screwed gold round-topped screws into the holes I had pre-drilled. And TT magically affixed it to the wall. Voila #2! Mornings got so easy! I feel like I am at a boutique as I make my daily selection. Dug out some necklaces I hadn't worn in years, just because of the pain of trying to find them.

PROJECT: My back hurts (though it is much better, BTW), it is hot and we won't get a pool until December or January. One of my friends told me about WalMart's $297.00 wonder - an 18' X 4' above ground pool! We bought it Friday night. Since TT cannot be out in the sun for long, I had the bright idea to set it up by moonlight.
That was a bit of lunacy for sure. We began to fill it with water and it looked like a mountain stream as the water rushed to one side. I had only hoped the ground was level. We had to drain it, move it and Saturday get a front loader.
A lot of details later, it was up and running by Sunday after church.

PROJECT: Relax and have fun! Sunday afternoon, Dot and Boyfriend came over for the first swim. It looks pretty good for what it is, huh? Grilled food and lots of fun. They had a dinner engagement. Not to worry, friends A and B came for leftovers, swimming and fun. Did we! Seemed like a really good idea to take that tractor for a ride! Then a little target shooting (with a pellet/bee-bee gun, very harmless!) and let's end the night with kareyokee !

I love projects!

too bad we don't live in the same city, same country. you like doing projects and all i have is problems to solve..you could do my hair, fix my wardrove and then start on helping with organizing the house...your imagination and enthusiasm is just what this house and i need..how about moving? great talent like you would find our bustling economy just perfect. the weather is wonderful and the four seasons is an experience of beauty. the people are mostly polite and kind. the dollar is getting stronger and so we are very close to par with the US. and we have lots of room to populate for your daughter to have tons of kids. see i got it all figure out, lol...or i could move down there too..lol...after all you are gonna have a pool ;) ...lol...

i'm glad that you had a very fulfilling day. feeling the sense of accomplishment is just awesome!

have a wonderful day my sweet.

WOW...move over Martha and watch out for Ms. Hatti Grace! I love your DIY ideas for life's little problems. Maybe you could help me out...my hair is killing me. It's totally dried out, and I tried using this Neutrogena Deep Conditioning product, but it didnt really help. Someone told me that a homemade remedy is better...got any ideas?

I love the 'Relax and Have Fun' bit. We all need to make this more of a 'project'. I'm in training for this. Trying to teach myself not to be so stressed out. I was reading one of your posts from another site...and you're right. The things that stress me out are dust. People matter more....

P.S. Also would have loved to have seen you put the pool up via moonlight. :)

ooohhhhh pool story. J bought the little boy one for his birthday. I come home in dark after school, fall over it onto cement driveway. Bad start. They filled it up, didn't do pump. Side of pool collapses - no, it wasn't a bit level. Did they work on it? No. They let it lay there for a year and one-half and ruin my grass, and the little boy would look wistfully out at a melted pool full of breeding mosquitos and green stuff. This is how God deals with me over my perfectionism...chaos rules. Projects - yeh, the more the merrier, but in the last few years just ran out of steam that generated the engine to fix everyone else's booboos and sometimes even my own. All kinds of art project materials looking at me accusingly. Anyway I've always thought there must be some way to enjoy jewelry besides just wearing it!!!! Take photos! For blog! Kudos for perservering with pool!

Man oh man are you talented! wow, i love how you did that. for a thousand bucks i couldn't have come up with that idea. i love that you are so talented. they are beautiful and not only but i'm so glad that you and your hubby work so well together and that he is supportive of you and helps your ideas come to life. that in itself is a great gift.

the daughter is kind of hot...i wish i looked like that in a bikini and i do twice over, lol...i guess she takes after her mama...i'm not just saying that. i honestly think you guys are gorgeous.

i have never been in a tractor but i am pretty sure that a ride would be great. it looks cool actually.

thank you for your kind words. i'm so greateful that you don't even know where i'm going but you are truly happy for me. i love that. i'm coming to Florida on friday night and leaving for a 7 day cruise on sunday. back next sunday and leave late monday. that means i have some time in Miami to see my darling grandma and all the family that lives there. most of them i have not seen since i left Boaco when i was just a girl...we are talking a good 28 yrs since i have seen them in person. some of them are quite old and sickly so i'm glad for this opportunity. my grandma was here a couple of times but not since my dad's death so that is about 9 yrs now...i'm so excited but terribly nervous. happy and stressed. exhausted and overwhelmed by all that needs to be done with the last day of school on thursday, finals, packing, my ex moving the same day i leave...i can't stop smiling of what is yet to come. i have never been on a cruise but nervous because i can't handle the heat. today was 29 Celcius, 85 Farenheit and i almost cried with the horribleness of the heat. lol....i swear no malls had the air condition up but it was me and not the mall, lol..so i am worried...did i mention i am happy as well..i can't wait to get hugged by my grandma, i am betting she will make all my stress dissapear but then i will have to say good bye and that will kill me too...i'm being told that i'm over anylizing everything and that i'm worrying too much and that is true but it's so me...sickening isn't? lol..anyways there it is, in a thousand words or less, he,he..love you very much. take care.

Hi sweetie, I esecially love the necklace holder it is a beautiful fun shape and very "contemporary" design feel to it. I too am happiest when I have projects. I love puzzle solving with decorating and decor and house hold challenges. I think it's why I also love blogging because it is a project! I am travelling in Canada visiting family and friends, yet I brought a painting I have been working on, because for me a holiday is a creative time period and I love thinking while I relax.

Been away from a computer for a week and I missed you! Funny how attached yet comforting it was to come to your blog while I am on the road...it is a virtual living room, a blog is to me, and so nice to see a familiar face!

sweet thoughts,
Candy
